Damascus Gut Hook Knife with Feather Pattern Blade and Stag Horn Handle

Description

The Damascus Gut Hook Knife is built for one job above all else: field dressing game cleanly and quickly. A deep skinner belly handles long, smooth slicing strokes, while the gut hook on the spine lets you open hide without risking a puncture into the gut cavity. The blade itself carries a feather Damascus pattern, with flowing diagonal lines that shift slightly with every angle of light.

A brass bolster separates the blade from a synthetic stag horn handle, finished in a warm amber tone with natural mottling. An engraved medallion sits near the spine, showing a stag head in profile, a detail that ties the knife’s look directly to its purpose in the field. A braided leather lanyard hangs from the handle butt, giving you a secure grip even with wet or gloved hands.

If you’d rather personalize the piece, JW Steel Crafts can engrave a custom design of your choosing onto the blade in place of the standard medallion.

The History Behind This Blade

Gut hook skinners trace back to hunters who needed a safer way to open hide without damaging meat. Damascus forging stretches back centuries, prized for its strength and folded layers. Staghorn handles have long been favored for their grip and rugged look. JW Steel Crafts forges this design by hand for hunters who want both function and craft.
